Satin Pothos
Description:
The Satin Pothos, also known as Scindapsus pictus, is a stunning trailing plant admired for its velvety, heart-shaped leaves adorned with silver splashes that create a soft, shimmering effect. Its elegant foliage and gentle cascading vines bring a refined tropical charm to any room, making it a favorite for both modern and cozy interiors.
Plant Care:
- Light: Satin Pothos thrives in bright, indirect light, which enhances its silver variegation. It can tolerate medium to low light, but the leaves may lose some of their shimmer in very dim conditions. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can fade or burn the foliage.
- Water: Water your Satin Pothos when the top 2–3 cm of soil feels dry. Keep the soil lightly moist but never soggy. Overwatering can cause root rot, while underwatering may lead to curling leaves - both of which the plant recovers from quickly with proper care.
- Humidity: Scindapsus pictus enjoys moderate to high humidity but adapts well to normal indoor levels. Increased humidity will enhance leaf texture and growth.
- Fertilizer: Feed your Satin Pothos once every 2–3 months during the growing season (spring and summer) using a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer. It requires minimal feeding to thrive.
- Pruning: Trim back vines as needed to maintain a compact, full shape or encourage bushier growth. Cut just above a leaf node to promote healthy new shoots.
